During the first meeting, we talk about your situation and expectations for therapy. I present how I work and answer your questions. You don't need to prepare for the session in any special way - just come with openness to conversation.
How long does IFS therapy take?
Remember that each process is individual, and the time needed to achieve intended goals depends on many factors.
"Clients who came to my office with such problems as: depression caused by aging and loneliness, lack of self-confidence in professional life, flying into a rage during marital arguments, or anxiety about meeting new people, reported significant improvement after a month or two.
If your psychological problems are deeply rooted or if you want to completely rebuild your personality, the work will take longer – probably a year or two."
— Jay Earley,
one of the leading IFS therapists, in the book "Self Therapy. A Step-by-Step Guide to Healing".
